Beautiful Mongolia and a Plan for Orphans.....

A baby calf racing us......

My beautiful Mongolian friend, Gantuul and I dressed in traditional dress at Kings palace.

Nathan, Kaytlin, Seth and Maiah's names all written in Old Mongolian script....my gift to myself!!

My travels outside the city have been very limited until this trip.  I spent Saturday enjoying the beauty that Mongolia has to offer and learned a lot about the country that 2 of my 4 children come from.  I am also excited about some new opportunities that will find more children living in foster families as opposed to institutions.  There is also a push to get children reunited with their own families.  I am an advocate and supporter of international adoption but do feel that if reunification is possible, then that is the best and healthiest option for the child.  Unfortunately, poverty and  alcoholism prevent this from happening in most cases.  Children do need families to call their own.....they need to belong and be part of a loving family and Mongolia is working on making this a priority!! It brings me great joy to report that 2 of Seth's friends have been reunited with extended family members and seem to be doing very well.  Here are a few photos of the beautiful countryside.......
